Yes, the German inflection did occur to us, as did Allo Allo', the UK comedy tv show (but thats just us). But, rolling back, it works and can be owned, remain memorable, and top of mind. A brand with deep roots in the terroir and international. Good job. Stick with it. Looking forward to the new logo.

Ah ha! Thanks for expalining the German inflection! You can tell we hadn't said the word out loud enough to catch on to that yet. :P But love everything you've written here, and even the German inflection wordplay gives it that extra touch of memorableness. I think we've got a winner!

Now your only competition is Bond villains trying to find fun things to do this time of year! 😂 Jokes aside, the new name is awesome. Stoked for everything you guys have in store!

I am never great with change but... I think I like it!

Also, naming things SUCKS these days - especially when you're trying to find something reasonably unique across multiple platforms (i.e. buying a URL, getting an Instagram handle, naming a Substack, etc). It took me ages to come up with Truffles & Tannins, and then within a month I'd changed my mind and wanted to be The Wine Edit. So now all my business stuff is called Truffles & Tannins but the Substack is called The Wine Edit - go figure! 😂

It's so hard! We originally stared as just "Wine and Comics" to get our feet wet but then expanded to include all media...and boy was that suddenly hard to name when it wasn't super specific. At the same time, wine + entertainment pairings is still pretty niche. I was tempted to default to "Wine and Movies" but then have episodes that covered other things anyway, but this new name I think really does the trick! I hope so anyway. It takes time to build a brand, so constantly rebranding isn't really the best idea.
