FilmStack Discord is LIVE

All FilmStackers welcome! Schedule events, screenings, share your latest posts, plus Group DMs and localized conversations.

We had a soft launch on Wednesday when I posted a Note about this, but here’s the official announcement, and please feel free to share far and wide: the more FilmStackers and/or Indie and/or NonDe minded film folks that join us, the merrier!

Apologies to my readers who aren’t necessarily a part of FilmStack: I took this responsibility on because I’d created Discord communities for Sundance Collab in the past, so thought this would be a valuable service to bring to this part of Substack. We’ll return to our regularly scheduled Wine-related posts next week!

When you enter the Discord, you should be gently placed into the “READ THIS FIRST” Channel, where you’ll find this handy WALKTHROUGH VIDEO, but here it is in this post as well:

When you first join, make sure to go to the “INTRODUCE YOURSELF” channel, and post your FilmStack Substack!

Then you can shhare any new post you have in the FILMSTACK POSTS channel:

And vote in Mark Hensley’s poll in the ALL COMMUNITY channel. Mark is setting up the Discord’s first digital screening event for his upccoming film - and Mark is based in Greece so this is the joy of Discord and online screenings!

I’m sure it will continue to be a work in progress for quite some time, but I’m excited to see you all in there!

• Let all of FilmStack know about Film Screenings and Releases

• Share our Substack Posts

• Ask for advice and help from the whole community

This should be an incredible addition to what we’re already doing here on SubStack, and help us scale far beyond this platform’s limitations.
