The humble and mighty Pais. There was a time I paired wine with vinyl for an old website and wanted to eventually import South American wines to the states with a QR code on each bottle corresponding to a local band from the region. I got to take a most magical tour through Chile, Argentina and Uruguay to meet my favorite wine makers, and the Pais I got to sample was really fun, exciting, vibrant. The people making wine down here are phenomenal. I don't know that particular bottle but I'll keep an eye out.
I also know nothing about Kpop or Demon Hunters but, I feel I ought to give this a go for the sake of your hard work here. Thanks for the pairing!
Oh my gosh that QR code concept is a brilliant idea! I hope to see that happen someday. I'd also rec the J. Bouchon Pais Salvaje as another distributor with decent distribution. But it all depends where you are and what's actually near you, as always with wine!
J. Bouchon was a stop on my journey through Chile, nice bottles for certain and I loved their Pais Salvaje. I'm not sure which bottles actually make it up to the US, but I know some of the best and brightest never get exported because they're only producing small allotments.
I didn't have the funds to go through with that lofty music/wine import project after all the extensive research, which brings tears to my eyes sometimes, I was so passionate about it for ages. If I land on a piles of money, I'd do it in a heartbeat. I live in Argentina and worked in wine in Chicago before moving. Once I was down here I naturally gravitated toward it (and the music/film scene). So I really enjoy your film/wine pairings immensely.
It's astounding how the wine trade's flourished in South America around ancestral grapes and a little less intervention. The white wines are also notable lately.
It's better than you think. There's a reason it's taken off the way it has. If you like Moana or Frozen, you'll love this. If you hate those, okay then you'll hate this, too.
The first 10-15 minutes will test you (it tests most middle aged audience members) but then it settles into being a coming of age story with moral complexity and belting diva songs that are catchy AF, as it should be :)
It’s worth a single watch, if only for the wtf of it all. The characters are entertaining and the animation style is engaging. And if you enjoy 90’s/early oughts hip/hop/rnb music/dance then you’ll see the heavy influence in the production numbers/soundtrack. So, yeah.

Gotta admit I will never watch this and have zero understanding of this genre whatsoever, too old. But I will take the pais! Hehe!

Okay, maaaaybe I will give it a try if I am home alone, there is zero way Scott would tolerate it hehe!

I do love that era of music…
