Just read this and the movie sounds awesome. I haven’t seen it yet. The pairings sound equally amazing. I had a Chimay a long time ago and remember liking it so I’m going to try and find a place that serves it. Thanks for your suggestions!

See if you can get the blue bottle - their "Grande Reserve" - which is the one we're specifically pairing with this flick. That's the one that's a cross between a beer and a port!

Pinto Noir? Does it explode into your palate?

Ha ha! Wow, THAT was a deep cut old school reference. (And typo fixed!)

I’m conceited enough (or hopeful perhaps) enough to think maybe my thoughts on this film inspired your watch. ? Let’s just pretend that’s a yes.

Great film. It’s such a quirky, fun and interesting watch. And David Bowie is so hot.

Whaaaat? I completely missed your own take! Have a link?

But nope, I'm part of a Letterboxd weekly film club that voted for this (ranked choice voting based on a theme to select one film each week - with the general aim to watch anything and everything, epecially if it takes us out of our usual comfort zones.) I loved it, so made Dallas watch it, and here we are :)

Oh, yes, sorry, I thought you meant here on Subsatck! But alas, I liked that and read it only after I’d seen it for my film club already. I did argue with another LB reviewer who claimed the movie wasn’t funny that it was “deadpan” (like your example showcased), so never laugh out loud, but still funny.
