Oooo, I love the idea of all those Gilgamesh poets - their culture is stuck on nothing but Gilgamesh stories (to mirror our own modern moment), they start in-fighting who gets to own the character and the lack of imagination and reverence of this one heroic myth leads the Babylonian empire to become overly militaristic, fail at said military endeavors, and eventually fall. Chef's kiss.
