Cep D’Or Cabaret Noir 2022, Cote de Stadtbredimus AOP, Luxembourg
Not a typo - this is a CABARET Noir from Luxembourg. Which I’d never heard of before. Very purple, opaque, low acid and low tannins but oodles of black currant and black plum. Reminds me of Touriga Nacional a fair bit.
Fun Fact: there’s a genre called Cabaret Noir, for cabaret shows with gritty noir aesthetic.
Fun Fact 2: Originally called “Cabernet Noir” (and there’s another grape still called “Cabernet Blanc”) they had to change the name due to rights issues.
Apparently a crossing of Cabernet and unknown disease resistant vines. If you find some, grab some! Winery is cepdor.lu

Clos Lapeyre “Vitatge Vielh” Jurancon Sec (aka Dry), South West France
60% Gros Manseng, 30% Petit Manseng, 10% Courbu from 60-100 year old vines. 1 year on lees with regular stirring in oak casks and 6 months in vats after being bottled 2 years later. Mouth-watering acidity meets honeyed notes of Gros and Petit Manseng, which then meets creamy body and Ricola-like arromatics thanks to the lees and oak aging.
Jurancon is a region best known for both Sec (“dry”) and Doux (“sweet”) versions of their white wine. Both are incredible, and we highly recomend this specific bottle if you can find it!

Clos Cibonne Cotes de Provence Rose Tradition 2023
100% Tibouron - a rare rose aged in neutral oak barrels! But even more rare, it’s aged in barrels under flor like a goddamned Sherry!!! Ths lends depth and body and layers of salinity, savory notes not often found in your typical rose wine.
We bought this bottle because we were wondering out loud why roses were never aged in oak, and someone overheard us and spotlighted this. And folks: we loved it. It truly represents another level of what rose can be, and it is outstandingly made. Alexander Stoffel wrote about this wine just the other month - it’s like when you learn a new word you swear you’ve never heard before and then suddenly it’s everywhere!

VRMT Rose Vermouth, Andalusia, Spain
Sweet rosé vermouth produced by Lustau in Jerez, Spain. Most of us think of Vermouth as the thing you make Martinis with, but sweet vermouth is one of my all-time fave sweet wines! Produced from a blend of Palomino, Moscatel, and Tintilla de Rota sherries, steeped in botanicals include wormwood, cardamom, nutmeg, vanilla, and chamomile, then fortified with neutral spirit distilled from 100% Airen grapes. 5g/l of residual sugar, which is only gently sweet.
